So, welcome to my next original idea, a reboot for the classic board game: Candyland; mainly a project that would be a new animated movie that could lead to a animated series. Now, this reboot was heavily based off the animated film based on the game from the early 2000's; yes the one my friends turned into a meme with the villain song. I wanted to make a new version of the movie that fixed some of the complaints the moive got from reviewers (mainly from people like Bobsheux) as well as to make something to have more staying power outside of memes XD. Not that there's anything wrong with "Liquorice Land"
For this version, it would have some little feelings of The Wizard of Oz with a pair of human kids journeying to the Candy Castle to with sidekicks to help them gain character development. I was excited to work on this, espeically redesigning my hubbies, but we'll get there when we get there.
And yeah, I'm only showing a singular character design, but due to offline stuff, I haven't had the time to draw some character sheets, so this Is all we're getting... sorry hope that's understandable.

And for our final good guy, we have Sir Jolly, the person in charge of the gumdrop fields and the romantic partner of Mayor Plumpy. Due to being in charge of two different sections of Candyland, Jolly can't really see Plumpy that much; but they still have really strong feelings for one another and although a little surprised to find out they "have a kid', Jolly welcomes them with open arms! Jolly also likes planting his gumdrop plants all around the pathway towards Candyland Castle AND around the Gingerbread village so he can always be in Plumpy's mind. He also likes to read and study as being partly infused with gumdrops has given him the ability to stretch and squish like Mrs Incredible but without the mum bod lmao
And yes, like Plumpy, Jolly was originally a non human character, a mole like creature in a clown onesuit which is why his outfit has a ton of colours, but I mainly kept him purple. But I also made his hair a turquiouse like blue colour to reference the original movie's design of Jolly where he's a mini dinosaur thing that can transform. I also made his elf ears very small to resemble the shape of actual gumdrops and I gave him freckles in reference to how some gumdrops have sugar sprinkled on them. And since some versions of him have glasses, I decided he could keep those, as a little treat.
