Really? I've watched FMA for about five episodes, it left me quite unimpressed. Does it have a character similar to this or something?

It's actually a jumble of multiple characters, one that has no form but always has an eye, and another has humanoid beings with no eyes attached to it (kinda hard to describe without seeing to be honest).

Do not watch the anime that's titled FMA, it's some weird spin-off. Instead, watch the later one that is titled FMA: Brotherhood, which actually follows the original storyline of the manga.
