The "edge" around the white markings is called Mapping and is most commonly seen in tobiano patterns

Hooves that grow out of white markings will also be a creamy color (although they can get stained brown by dirt!  ) similar to the left front leg on this horse. So you would have to change his right front to match it. And the skin is pink where white hair grows, so if there was a white marking on his muzzle, you'd change the skin in that area to pinkish. Just thought I'd mention this, in case you didn't know! ^.^
