thats a good effort. What settings are you using for the shot. Do you use flash. you could try cropping the top of the shot off. so his head is 2 thirds of the way frame

hia, cheers for the comment. I had the camera set on automatic for that shot and yes i used flash. I know I need to get used to using different settings, but apart from adjusting the shutter speed to capture movement, im still quite in the dark about everything. what do you use while taking such shots? (i noticed you take a lot of live band shots too)
cheers

i use flash when i have to. If the lighting is strong in the venue i try noy to use flash. I'll set the shutter speed to about 1/60 of a second. I know thats quite slow but it can give some pretty good results. if you look at my shots it tells you the settings to the right in the info box. try and use the highest iso setting on the camera if your not using flash. If you are set it around iso 400. the lower the iso setting the less sensitive it is to light but it also gives less grainy pics. if your using flash it can wash all of the colour out of the shot i.e spot lights, these lights usually add lots of atmosphere. i'm taking pics at the Roadhouse in Manchester tonight. I'll try and submit them tomorrow. hope this all helps
