One thing that sent me into curiousity is why is his muzzle so long? That's one issue that I've been seeing with some of your reptiles. Too long of a muzzle XD

Dang, hahah, I love this one. The details, the pose, angle and expression. I could stare at it and admire the details, but at the same time fear that his fist might go through my monitor any moment now and slug me.
As for your dilemma, I'm not sure what to say. We always grow up having a dream job of what we would love to do, but as we grow we learn things that either put us off of pursuing that dream or realize that it just wouldn't make a comfortable life or support us as well as it needs to. Or something or other comes up and you end up choosing something else. Personally I always wanted to be a video game designer, but one thing lead to another and I ended up pursuing a career in Computer Systems Installation and Repairs. Sometimes these things are all left to chance, and it's a gamble on whether it'll work or not if you decide to follow it. It might pay off, it might not. But what's life without taking risks?
As for whether or not you'd be hired with or without an academic qualification, personally I think it all depends on how good you are. Yes, an academic qualification WILL help, but it really falls on your skills and proving it to them. And I don't think it matters if you only know how to use a mouse, just as long as you can do the job.

lol you know, I thought the same thing when I was a kid. Wanting to live life, doing the stuff I did for fun... only getting paid for it. But, I started to look into it, and through it when I got older... I really really wanted to get into the computer and gaming industry, but ... I realized that no matter where you sit, you're basically doing something that's the complete opposite of what you thought you'd be doing. Like... I heard about being a Game Tester about 2 years ago, and I applied to get in. Obviously, I didn't get the job, but I began reading about blogs from other game testers, and usually they say that what you do is play the game in such a horrible manner, so you can find even the slightest issues. Imagine playing your favorite game... Then imagine playing it like a complete screw off... Walking into walls and corners, hitting stuff that's not supposed to be hit, getting rid of and destroying important things... not meeting deadlines or requirements... Basically to test a game, you have to be an outrageous failure at it... And that's the only way to find bugs D: ...
It sucks!!
I also, at one point, wanted to be a graphic artist or... and artist at some point. Then I later realized I sucked at it. But getting away from that I also realized that, like you said, if no one likes your idea... No one's going to buy it, and you'd be a struggling, starving artist. Akira Toriyama is probably one of the more famous examples of that, since everybody knows that Dragonball and DragonBall Z were his desperate attempts at trying to eat and pay bills.
It eventually worked out for him, because I LOVE the DragonBall series, and own a lot of the games. But . . . if it somehow didn't work out, he'd of been screwed! D:
But more on topic, I don't think I've seen Li Wei actually upset, or angry... I believe I remember reading about him being brutish and evil in Master of Claws, but I don't remember seeing him ready to rumble for a while X3
