(I am Kerry, one of Purple Vixen’s most trusted LILAC commanders. This is my account of a recent heist!)

After our unsuccessful heist at the Metro City Port and my subsequent run-in with the Assistant DA and her daughter at the Metro City East Correction Center, Purple Vixen bailed Kim and me out of jail a few weeks later. On the day we were released, Vixen summoned us to her headquarters in downtown Metro City. Kim and I soon found ourselves in full uniform, standing before our boss in her luxurious wood-panelled office as she sat behind her large oak desk. I could tell Kim was super-nervous, as this would be the first time for her to meet Purple Vixen! I was also a little worried and wondered how our illustrious leader would receive us.

“Welcome back Kerry,” Vixen said with a nod to me. “A shame how things went at the port. I expected more from you.”

“Yes ma’am,” I replied, knowing Vixen would not want to hear excuses or arguments. I had also told Kim prior to our meeting that we would just be listening and taking instructions and under no circumstances should she argue with Purple Vixen.

“And you must be Kim,” she said, addressing her for the first time. Kim immediately put her hand up to her forehead in a salute. “Yes, ma’am!” she barked like a private at boot camp. Vixen smiled at Kim’s show of respect. It immediately lightened her mood and she was clearly pleased that Kim seemed to be such an eager young recruit.

Purple Vixen then looked at me and got down to business. “You and Kim need to get back to the basics and practice your skills before I can trust you with another million dollar heist,” said Vixen. “Your execution of the operation at the port was careless and sloppy,” she continued. “You shouldn’t have split up. Remember what I always say- ‘There is strength in numbers!’ That Nighthawk Six woman picked you off one by one. No wonder you got nabbed. We need to find a target where you can’t possibly mess up!”

So, Purple Vixen tasked us with robbing a fast food restaurant. “The Burger Corner at 12th and Main. It will be 2 or 3 minutes, tops!” she said, encouragingly. “A quick in and out. You’ll be gone before they know what hit them! And make sure you stick together! If you succeed with this, we’ll have you move up to bigger jobs. If you fail, the next target I give you will be a lemonade stand! I want this job completed in the next few days! Any questions?”

“No ma’am,” I replied. “We won’t let you down!”

With that, Vixen waved her hand, dismissing us. Kim and I were extremely confident. An unguarded burger joint? What could possibly go wrong? “C’mon Kim,” I said. “Let’s get ready!”
