Why hasn't this gotten more attention? It's gorgeous. I really love the ripples in the water around the lapras, and how it's silhouetted against the light.
How could any trainer bear to catch it and disrupt such a nice, peaceful scene?
It also somehow brings to mind the fact that lapras are endangered in the pokeverse. Interesting that this one is alone in the big ocean. It makes it seem a bit more of a rare thing in that sence, that you get to glimpce a lapras at peace like that.
....I'm probably looking too much into it. Again.

This is excellent! I love how you handled the lighting with the shadows upfront to help draw focus and move our eye to the Lapras haloed by the light.... which also contrasts nicely...again, drawing the viewer's eye.
The style is great and whimsical...definitely suited for a childrenβs book. Something to consider....Great job!
