Description
This is what happens when you get inspired in the middle of the night! I looked for my dala horse and found it i a wardrobe, then used the kurbits painting on it for this piece.

The dala horse is a type of wooden horse that have been made in Sweden for centuries, particularly in Dalarna, northern Sweden, hence their name. The horses were painted in the traditional kurbits style, giving them floral saddles, bridles and colourful manes. The typical dala horse is red like this one, but the patterns and flowers may change from horse to horse. They also comes in blue, green and black, and some of the older horses are white with blue spots. All horses have floral patterns though, and that really is their trademark. The dala horse is now a symbol of Sweden and not just of Dalarna were it originally was made.

My dala horse is quite old and very worn with one ear missing and the colours faded, but in my opinion that only makes it more beautiful.
