Description
This little beastie is a Vampire Hippo. Vampire hippos feed on electricity from storm clouds and can often be seen flocking and hovering around cumulo-nimbus thunderheads moments before a storm breaks loose. Though their tiny, bat-like wings don't look like much, they're actually very strong and can withstand harsh winds. When not chasing storm clouds, Vampire Hippos flutter lazily back to their treetop homes, where they build their nests out of old sticks and swamp mud. The electricity they store in their front fangs can give quite a shock, so it's recommended to always wear rubber gloves when handling a Vampire Hippo and to not hold it for very long. (They get cranky.)

This plush measures approximately 7 inches long and 4 inches tall (not counting ears or tail) and is made of minky with felt eyes. The wings are button jointed on, so they can be gently posed in up or down positions. This plush solidly stuffed, but still very squishy and huggable. I made this doll by modifying DIY Fluffies' Rhino pattern. The pattern is available for sale here:

Oh, gosh, this plushie was so much fun to make! I'm tempted to make an army of little hippos *lol* but we'll see.
