This little lovely is a Sky Hippo. Sky Hippos live way up high in the clouds and flutter around with their tiny wings like bumblebees looking for rainbow nectar to drink. (When rainbows begin to disperse, they release little multi-colored droplets called "nectar.") They make their nests out of the softest cloud fluff they can find and usually lay 1 to 2 eggs every spring, when rain clouds are most abundant. Sky hippos live in colonies and are migratory, following the wind rivers that push the clouds across the sky.This plush measures approximately 7 inches long and 4 inches tall (not counting ears or tail) and is made of minky with felt eyes. The wings are button jointed on, so they can be gently posed in up or down positions. This plush solidly stuffed, but still very squishy and huggable. I made this doll by modifying DIY Fluffies' Rhino pattern. The pattern is available for sale here:

Oh, gosh, this plushie was so much fun to make! I'm tempted to make an army of little hippos *lol* but we'll see.
