Alex absolutely despised his step-mother. There were a lot of reasons why, in his mind. Part of it was the age difference; his father was nearing fifty, while she was in her mid twenties. Part of it was how his parents had only just divorced when his dad had gotten together with his step-mother. And part of it was just personality clashes; Alex thought his step-mother was just strange, with all of her books in Latin and odd grocery purchases.

With Alex's dad routinely out of town for weeks or even months due to business, it was no surprise that tensions quickly rose. Alex was rowdy at the best of times, and with his father not around to keep him in line he started acting out. He started staying out later and later at night with his friends at the skate park, often until 3 or 4 in the morning.

When his step-mother tried to respond by giving him a strict curfew, Alex responded....poorly. It lead to a huge screaming match. Ultimately, before storming off to his room Alex had yelled that his step-mother was “just a two bit gold digger”. This...was not the best move on his part.

You see, Alex’s step-mother was a powerful witch, and had a, shall we say, anger management issue. She also held a grudge. So when Alex insulted her and stormed off, she....kind of lost it.

Making her way into the house library, she dug through the stack of old books before finding the one she was looking for. Flipping through the pages, she soon reached the spot she was looking for. With a grim smile, she began to chant....

Alexis doesn’t remember much about those days. She certainly doesn’t remember being Alex, nor is there anyone who remembers who she used to be. The spell locked her brain in a sort of near ending fog, so she’s not good at schoolwork in the slightest. She still hangs out at the skate park, but only to chat with the other girls and keep an eye out—and on— the boys.

She still doesn’t understand why her step-mother finds her shirt so funny.
