When the Mercenaries was released from their contract and was sent home, the RED Medic was the last to go, he had a lot of research to finish and packing to do. In fact, he doesn't want to go home since no one is waiting for him anymore, he was happy with his feathered companions.

Doomsday struck just days after, there was a powerful earthquake and the Medic was in his office, the base he was staying in was underground. The structure began to fall apart all around him, he thought it was his time but after prolonged moments of trembling. The earthquake faded. He was still alive, if there were any survivors, they probably had time to get up to the surface unlike the doctor, he was trapped.

Luckily, there's food supply inside that tomb of a base, but not enough to last forever, and he had to share it with his birds. He would spend his time with research but finding help and communicating with the outside world was much more vital.

As days and weeks passed. His food and water was dwindling along with his sanity, talking to his pet doves was normal enough, but seeing other entities that only existed in his mind was worrying.

Until one day, there was no food left, still not sign of help from the outside. It took him awhile to ponder how to survive just a little bit more, then it struck him. He averted his gaze from the ground to a dove perched on the coat hanger. He moved closer, the creature didn't budge, the Medic suddenly grabbed it, and without a moment of regret, he plunged his teeth into the bird's chest.

More days passed, the number of doves was reducing, of course he will never harm Archimedes. But the creature has learned to fear his master, it breaks the heart of the Medic.

He lost his sense of time but now he's afraid that this day would come, that there was only one dove left. His love for the animal was much stronger. "Just little longer" he thought. "And ve vill be free..."

The amount of time that has slipped was unknown, the doctor was at the verge of killing himself with a poison when suddenly the ground shook. It was another strong earthquake, loud thrashing of rubble and metal, this time it affected the electricity, it was pitch black, but there was a sliver of light. He immediately went for it, finally, they we're going to be free. Without hesitation, he dug the rubble surrounding the crack where the light passed through, the cuts didn't bother him, his desperation made him numb. After moments of hopeful excavation. The hole he made has weakened the support of the remaining toppled debris and it tore open a much larger exit.

He came out just to be disappointed. "How long am I down zhere?" He asked. The environment was nearly barren, fallen structures, dead organisms here and there. A number of carnivorous birds flying up ahead. Then he recalled of Archimedes, he went back to the hole, he called out only to hear an undisturbed echo of his shout. He did it once more, and yet none, no flutter of flight. His chest tightened about the horrid thought of it. It can't be. He held back his tears, and tried to replace it with a scene where his last companion flew out as he sprang out of the ground, and he didn't notice. Yes, that was a good thought, let's just put it that way. He sat and thought for a while about what he's going to do next other than research. Moments later, a crow landed on one of the carcasses in front of him. The animal wasn't afraid of him. The Medic spoke "If you vere my pet, I'd call you Morrigan..."
