On Sunday, Mr. Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, passed away from bile duct cancer. He was only 55.
Thank you for the memories, Mr. Iwata. From gamers everywhere. Rest in peace. I understand.

It's a very lovely piece, and of course it brings up so many memories. We started so many journeys thanks to Mr. Iwata, and it's heartbreaking that we won't get to share more with him...

Thanks. He was such a quirky and upbeat guy, I had no idea that he had cancer. It feels strange, I've felt utterly rotten the last 6 hours since I found out, even though I never knew him personally. But Mr. Iwata was the public face of Nintendo for nearly 15 years and had been a programmer there since the 80s... I guess he felt like that distant uncle you never really met but who would send you a letter with $50 in it every Christmas.
