Description
The first remake of my Garbonzo costume, which I wore to Anthrocon 2010. The only thing I changed here from the original costume was the mask, which has been completely remade. I forgot the nose ring, and actually didn't notice until the Saturday of the convention, but I do intend to add it.There will probably be a Garbonzo 2.5 or some such, as I currently have plans to completely redo the body and tail. Especially the tail - I am so sick of people stepping on that thing.

I can see how people stepping on the tail could be a problem! Love the costume though. I prefer costumes like this where there's a mix of prosthetic and true body.

Im making a halloween costume that kinda has the same idea going with wearing a body suit to act as my character skin. Did you just airbrush it or use dyes or fabric paint? Im just curious because i only have one body suit to use and it cost a little bit to buy so i cant afford to experiment to much. Thanks! -Hannah

I painted it with dilute acrylics and a paintbrush. I would advise practicing on some similar scrap fabric before painting on the bodysuit - that would probably be the best way to get a feel for how you want to apply your paint.
You can pick up some experimental fabric at a fabric store or some such.

This is absolutely beautiful!! I think it's a gorgeous improvement to the previous design. I absolutely love the facial structure now and the narrow muzzle on him.
I was wondering, where did you get the faux fur/synthetic hair for the "hood" of the costume, or I suppose it would be his mane. That's beautiful and looks like extremely high quality, and I'd love to know where it is you got it.

Thanks! The good and other accents are wefted Kanekalon (synthetic hair), so I essentially made it myself.

I thought I had heard that you'd made it yourself, when I had a fascination with your Kreeker suit. The effect looks like nothing I've ever seen from a store and while it is absolutely stunning and beautiful, I'm disappointed it's not available for purchase for those of us not skilled in wefted Kankaloolooloo.

I am absolutely enchanted. I adore how the colors are arranged - matching the pants, feathers, leather ties, the mask markings - the body values match the values in the furry calf and forearm coverings and that matches the fur on the tail....wicked cool. It's all so coordinated and crisp looking. What a delightful costume Q!

Yeah, he had big ears, sculpted feathering in the sides of the face, and the aforementioned nose ring. I replaced the ears with big feathers on this one, partly because it looked freaking cool, and partly because after being up all night working, I was not about to make ears.

If you're sick of people stepping on the tail, you need to make one that stands off the ground.
Or you could create a tail with spikes on them or those little trumpets they place in dog and child toys that go "swwwaaeee" but with a better sound.
