Alright! So, this is my entry for CONTEST 25: Heroes, Villains and Sidekicks. on the Disney-Club group site. This entry is for the Hero/ sidekick portion of the contest.

Hero: Zvijezda "Zvi"

Sidekick(s): Lisica "Lisi" and record spheres

The Inspiration:

I tried to think a little 'out of the box' for this one and tried to follow Disney's basic formula BUT also change a few things. Disney's formula usually resides in a 'fairy tale', with a heroine/ hero.
Most are derived from earth itself, its history and it usually tends to stay on earth for the most part (like Lilo and Stitch) or the world is influenced heavily on Earth( Treasure Planet). I wanted to make a concept for the main character that was away from Earth, which brought new possibilities to the world and story-line.

My idea still fits with the formula, it has a young heroine that goes on a life changing odyssey. Her name is Zvijezda or 'Zvi' for short. Even though the story doesn't take place on earth, (in fact humans are living solely in space at this time), there's still some aspects of earth that exist like languages and some cultural traditions. But for the most part, the worlds are alien and humans reside among them.

I wanted to make this more SciFi because you rarely see a Disney film that is based in deep space. My inspiration came more from Disney's newer aspects, Marvel and Star Wars that have characters /worlds outside of Earth.

The story:

Zvi's is 17 yrs old female and apart of a scientific colony that is looking for a space phenomenon called 'The Puniceus Nebulae' (or The Purple Nebula in English), its an entity, a myth that has great power. Its suppose to hold wisdom and knowledge of the universe. But its also rumored to hold dark secrets and is deemed to be very dangerous. It was believed to be just a story until a witness came back from The Nebula with unknown specimens from its surface. The colonies (which consist of a number of scientists, farmers, soldiers..etc) have gotten permission to investigate and find The Nebula before it is discovered by others with ill intentions.

Zvi is a new recruit for the mission (among a dozen) that is helping to find the Nebula. She is a genius (specializing in planetary biology and mechanics), very spunky and is always seen with her companion Lisica (Lisi for short) who was one of the specimens brought from The Purple Nebula and has so far only shown trust to Zvi.
Zvi is also seen with 'record spheres' around her person, who catalog her actions and findings on the trip. Everything is going well into the mission until the colony is attacked by an unknown ship that disables most of the crew. Zvi finds herself taking up a leadership position for her injured comrades, facing a dark cunning enemy and trying to find The Purple Nebula before the enemy does.
