There's a feathered tail ... it's just seen edge on. I was trying a "occassionally not at an angle" type view. Yes, it makes it less distinctive and noted for the feathers, but sometimes happens. It's lifting its tail as a balance; the tail tip has sprayed feathers orienting down, but the ones closer to the base, or "stock" are sideways. I think the feathers may have some independant motion compared to the tail, and may even "spread" and "fold" compared. It's just an idea.

What happen with the feathers of the tail? the fossils show clearly a totally feathered tail, it is not a simple conceptual inference.

I generally like all those little feathered critters.
Archaeopteryx is the one I use as avatar for the paleo communities.
But I really like Microraptor gui. This four-wings little dromaeosaur is just funny. It'd even make a good comics character.

Congratulations, there are still too many persons who think dinosaurs were all scaly and whatnot.
You're right in your statement: Archaeopteryx, the most ancient known bird, is a dinosaur, like all birds are dinosaurs.
