Okay, so one of my friends has this Halo universe she created that is inspired by traditional Japanese culture. Anyways, she actually got to talk to the guys at Bungie about it - and they were intrigued. Well, she asked me to do some drawings for her. This is a samurai-fied version of master chief. I thought the katana would be too obvious a choice, so I decided to go with another of the samurai's favourite weapons - the long bow. I suped it up a bit. Believe me, those are no ordinary arrows!I kind of wanted to base the armour design on the fact that Master Chief is known as "The Demon" to his enemies. So, I went with a sort of dragon-like theme for the helmet and a scaley look to the armour.
Halo and all Halo characters are the property of Bungie and Microsoft! I just like to play with them.

If I had any coloring skills at all... I would have asked you if I could do a colored version. But since I have none I won't ask...
Maybe in the future though when I do get some coloring in pictures digitally skills could I try and color this?

The helmet looks near exactly like my Hayabusa one.

Sweet, kinda like the Hayabusa set only better! I think the dragon was a good theme to choose for this, rather fitting and at the same time, it looks cool as well.
Have you played Gears of War? I reckon the bow'd be something like the Torque Bow on that, the arrow sticks in you then explodes.
Great detail on this and I like your confident, dark lineart. The high contrast and thick lines work well for this.
My only potential suggestion here would be to maybe increase the degree to which the leg narrows towards the back of the knee. I don't know if it's just the curvy armour, but the joint doesn't appear too obvious there.
Otherwise a great piece, great weapon and armour concepts and fantastic detail to match, well done!

Thanks so much! No I haven't played Gears of War yet, but I'd like to. The exploding arrows thing is pretty much the concept I had for these, almost like a needler but worse. XD I think knee issue is mostly due to the armour, but I don't remember how I had things positioned before I started adding the armour on top.

This is awesome! You've somehow made a hybrid of MJOLNIR and Samurai armour that really works well, and I love the bow, really.

before I read the description I was thinking "Damn he reminds me of the Chief" and then I read it and laughed. I like the dragon theme, it totally reminds me of the Chief. That and the bow is beautiful.
