I think it might be a montecarlo....

I actually own one of those....a 96 from 64....so the one I have is a shortnose instead of longnose as this one... even though Id guess that the one on this photo actually is a "saab 96 montecarlo" or a saab 96 sport....not quite sure...

I think its a '69 V4

They did make a v4 Monte Carlo one year, I think, but this is just a v4 base model. I believe he is building a Monte Carlo for a road racing car though with a two stroke.

The short noses are really getting scarce. Does it have any rust? Make sure you take care of any rust as it shows up because that car is something you want to preserve the best you can!

my shortnose is right now standing inside.....built an entirely new floor for it couple of years ago...the old one rosted so that you could see the ground below you....quite cool....but not very practically...lol....umh...except for that its not very much rust on it......
..........................................................

I think the montecarlo had those two lines at the side instead of 1....atleast I think I remember that from my dads old speeches about those cars....(he founded the "swedish saab montecarlo and saabsport club" which existed between -60s to -80s I believe....he also owned I thnk 5 or 6 of those through the years....+one alfaromeo and some more stuf...he was amazing with cars...had tons of knowledge...)....but as for the lines on the side...I might be wrong....

owh well.....now...lol...now I know it for sure....

a Saab sport or a monte carlo is easily recognised through the TWO shiny lines on the bottom of the side instead of ONE as it is on the usual ones... the car on your picture is therefor a Saab sport or a montecarlo....the car is also obviously from after -65...since that was when the "longnose" saab-96 came.... I am not sure wether it is a montecarlo or saabsport....the saab-96sport is the sportier models from before -67.....after -67 they are called montecarlo.......

lol

I think under the Saab badge on the back there is a DeLuxe badge. That could be what they call Saabsports here? You are right about the 2 line thing!

I'm glad to hear you replaced the floor in that car! Sorry it rusted on you in the first place.

Dankerschon for the compliment, and consider it returned- this (and several of your over stuff, Skubys included) is pretty awesome, especially given how difficult/potentially dangerous it is to photograph fast moving cars in rally like conditions; doubly so if your taking the low shutter, high aperture, blurred background route. But when it pays off... am impressed.

That is probably the ultimate compliment you could give me, because I know that alot of the people that view my page are turned away by all the cars!! Thank you!!
