Description
This is my own cover design for Silent Hill 3.
The game is brilliant so I thought it deserved a version of the cover with a little more depth and subtlety than a closeup of Heather's face. I also wanted to tie in some of the great symbolism of the game, especially the Halo of the Sun. For those who don't know:
The three circles in the Halo represent past, present, and future which I have personified with Alessa's ghost, Heather, and Claudia's intended plan for the god. The symbol by Heather's shoulder is the Triple Moon, the waxing, full, and waning phases. They symbolize the three states of woman: maiden, mother, and crone. I represented each with Alessa as a child, Heather (because--spoilers--it makes sense), and Claudia the elder.

The lyrics "Are you dead or are you sleeping?" are from Modest Mouse.

Looks better than the original case artwork. I've always wondered how well this would have faired if they kept this series going...But Konami just let it die.

Looks a lot better than the original, but I wouldn't actually have wanted it just because it might show a bit too much of the game.
It's debatable.
But for someone who has already played the game, the symbolism involved in this clearly make it superior to the original in every way. Outstanding job!

Oh my god, this is utterly gorgeous! It would have made a LOVELY cover for the game-- I'm particularly blown away by Claudia and the god fetus-- sends chills down my spine!
