Description Well really shouldn`t have brought myself some 0.1 pens to use - this has taken ages... Ridiculously intricate
Few more mayan-based designs that I am working on left in my infamous WIP folder
Drawn freehand with Staedtler pens - 0.8, 0.5 and 0.1 Prismacolor markers
Original size is A4-ish
Created December 2006 - January 2007 As usual print size is about 4MB worth of detail rather than the smaller one here - very intricate

It looks like Incan blood as seen through a microscope .

I like it.
Ooh what pens do you use for that precise work, I always use regular byros and needless to say, you can't get that level of intricacy with those.

Hmm Incan blood cells - might have to do a red version (not as intricately detailed though )

This was done with Staedtler pigment liner pens - range in sizes from 0.8 down to 0.1 (though Bic also make similiar but not as black I use on more sketchy mono ones). Do prefer my old trusty Rotring ones but they cost too much and don`t like the watercolour paper I used on this - kills them just like that and new nibs are a pain! Should be able to get Staedtler ones okay in Belgium as are made in Germany!

You should definately do one in reds! Would be very sweet also.
Double meaning: Human sacrifices in the Incan society.
Incas flowing like blood --> Cortez the killer.

I think I've used Rotring and Staedler ones before I think, a long time ago, but the small tips get messed up rather soon if you have to color large pieces black.
I'm going to have to buy a set of them. Fat tipped and skinny-tipped.

I`ll be adding it to my to do list... have got some darker pieces to do so will be a good flow into it...

If I do get back to doing large pieces black usually use my Prismacolor marker - the new Staedtler ones are much better than they used to be...
