Description
This poster is something I thought of using to introduce magic in one of my stories. Magic in the world of Locarzea is known as lormology. Lormology is comprised of abilities known as corollaries.
Corollaries fall into one of 8 types (attributes), which can be further subdivided into four categories:
Low risk, high reward: these abilities tend to greatly benefit the mage with very little risk involved. Attributes:
a. Subjugation: grants the mage the ability to manipulate existing things. For example, the mage can manipulate gravity.
b. Transmogrification: grants the mage the power to transform one thing into another. For example, the mage could turn a person into fox fur.
High risk, high reward: these abilities tend to carry some great risk, but in return, can be extremely beneficial. Attributes:
c. Commutation: sacrifice a possession to gain something else. For example, a mage sacrifices a bit of their lifespan in order to eternally paralyze a target.
d. Extirpation: grants the mage the ability to eradicate something. For example, the mage can erase tumours inside their body.
High risk, low reward: these abilities tend to be very situation and carry great risk, but can be very helpful in niche situations. Attributes:
e. Obligation: changes one’s interactions with their surroundings. For example, a mage can avoid being affected by gravity.
f. Transposition: transfer a possession between the mage and a target. For example, a mage in the midst of a heart attack could transfer that heart attack to the target (in this example, the heart attack serves as a possession).
Low risk, low reward: these abilities tend to be very safe but may leave a mage wanting more. Attributes:
g. Acquisition: enhances the user’s ability to achieve a goal. For example, a mage can have better luck gaining allies for a cause.
h. Manifestation: allows the user to physically manifest a skill. For example, a mage skilled at swordsmanship could physically manifest cuts on a target.
