Description

Built in 2288 as a sub-class to the Excelsior Class, the Excela Sub-class was a more lower grade version of the Excelsior with a solid neck, which cut costs down. The USS Excela, NCC-2051 is the namesake of the class along with the USS Rhode Island, NCC-2052 as it's first member after the namesake; both finished construction around June 7th & June 10th 2288 respectfully.

The USS Excela, NCC-2051 was used as a training vessel in 2323 for cadets to train aboard and get a grip at commanding a starship for the first time; the USS Rhode Island, NCC-2052 however was being used as a Patrol vessel and a 2nd Contact ship for civilization that had 1st Contact with a Starfleet away team, or a Starfleet Vessel.

During the Dominon War, all Excelsiors (including this sub-class) were having various modifications added, 4 of the Excelas gained Heavy Phasers that were inspired from the USS Zenterprise-B for more firepower; this resulted in them being reclassed as Heavy Assault Cruisers.

The Execela Subclass lasted until the Excelsior Class itself was superseded and upgraded to the Nexcelsior Class; but a one-off Nexcelsior had a full solid neck with the tarper; it was aptly nicknamed the 'Execela-II Subclass'.

Interesting take. If I were you, i'd move the saucer a bit forward with the neck partly under the impulse drive assembly.

then it would look like an Excelsior, this is a sub-class of it, also, the original ship this was came from my T5YW AU, which has the same neck.

thanks for commenting, but the neck and saucer are staying the same, no buts, no nothing.

Okay then.

What other designs do you have planned?

an alternate version of the 25th Century Constitution Class (but with the actual connie saucer this time) and also completing Kelso323's Axanar Connie as it has no top view.
