Description
Here's another MS Paint drawing of a fox Pokemon-thing that stemmed from procrastination. XD I had a few ideas in mind for a Mega Delphox concept, and eventually those ideas compelled me to make an integrated drawing.

Of course, like other Mega Delphox concepts, I decided to upgrade Delphox's wand to a magical staff. I've carried over Braixen's traits (like other canon Megas) through this design's wavy ear fur and 'broomstick'. I didn't carry on the theme of witches, however. I felt the design would come too close to Mismagius, and a sudden pointy hat and a fancy crystal in Mega Delphox's staff would make it look more like a costume than a natural design. Therefore, I designed this Mega with male mages in mind. Gandalf and the Sorcerer Supreme himself were inspirations. I'm not sure if these design elements are too subdued for a Mega compared to other canon Mega Pokemon.

I've also mused over potential stats for this Mega:

Typing: Fire/Psychic
Ability: Blaze/Magician -> Magic Guard or Filter? Help me out here!
HP: 75
Attack: 69 - 20 -> 49
Defense: 72 + 40 -> 112
Sp. Attack: 114 + 40 -> 154
Sp. Defense: 100 + 30 -> 130
Speed: 104 + 10 -> 114
+ Lava Plume
+ Nasty Plot

I'm not exactly sure how well-thought-out this Mega is for competitive play. Delphox's role in the RU metagame is that of a wallbreaker, but up in OU, Hoopa Unbound probably surpasses a possible Mega Delphox in that role--especially since it can hold an item.

I instead went for a defensive route to make a difference in roles. Delphox does get Will-O-Wisp, Mystical Fire, and Wish, but it has lacked the stats and typing to be defensive. I dumped a bunch of base stat points into the defenses in hopes of making up for that. :U But Pokemon like Greninja or Landorus likely still defeat it, and its STABs are nothing spectacular when Pokemon like Latios, Heatran, and Tyranitar resist them.

Ah, well. It was fun to brainstorm these ideas, but I should be getting back to other work.
