Actually, we probably would've rescued the kid. To that point, there was a time when a raccoon was trapped in a dumpster by our apartment. We spent a good deal of time trying to figure out how to rescue it. Here's the story if you're curious.

I don't know, it doesn't look so bad. I mean, the guy can afford a computer. She'll probably be a l33t with BitTorrent years before the other nerds in school. And once you have skills with BitTorrent you don't really need any other material substance in life, outside of food and stuff.

I'm sure in the past people looked to their obsessive hangups for "inspired" names for their children. That's probably why most of us have generic Bible based names. Our parents were Bible otaku.

Yeah, I suppose it mostly depends on HOW you raise your children, rather than the influences they'll have (although l337 skillz are definitely a plus, in our ever expanding computer age)
As for my parents... they're actually jus crazy

Wow! To a person who hasn't played Kingdom Hearts 2, that reference was so clandestine and ambiguous, I actually had to call in outside help to figure out what you were talking about. Fortunately, I have Lindsay to explain these things to me.

I remember hearing that too. The more I think about it, the more Iβm starting to feel sorry for my own future children. How about Naruto if itβs a boy and Sakura-chan if itβs a girl. My kids will wish I named them Junior, or after their paternal grandmother.

Well, when you think about it, there are people named "Sunflower" "Oak" and all those other hippie names. This is just another step in the era of dumb names. They'll at least be happy that they aren't named after other people in the media... like Superman.... or Scooby Doo, possibly even Ann Coulter.
I'll name my child Spartacus, or Thor God of Thunder. They'll have to defeat me in combat if they wish to change their names......

Fantastic point! And I actually love your name ideas. Greco-Roman or the Halls of Valhalla. Both seem so classy, cool, steeped in antiquity, and mysterious. I can see my child's name on the school honor roll:
