I'll start out by saying, I love the variety of textures in this photo. There's the underwater texture, the tulle, starfish, the sand, etc. I also think her wearing red was the best contrast to the sea, making the image seem fuller even though it's not exactly a full body shot.
She doesn't look miserable, being underwater { since she is a mermaid conceptually }, she just looked at peace with it. Like, this is where she lives and it's not bad, it's beautiful, but why don't you have a tail ?
I think this photo is really cute and fun ~
Like playing pretend as a child. { the model looks especially young here, too }
The way the tail was made and how it's portrayed into the water in the background definitely gives it a fantasy affect. Very balanced image and stands out quite bravely. It's also different from your usual shots that include mostly plants and trees. It's nice to see something different once in a while; slayed it for sure c: !

First of all, I love this because I miss the ocean and starfish, so.
As I absorb this piece, I am listening to "Sounds of the Sea" By Renaissance. If you have not heard it, I highly recommend it. (purely coincidental, the timing with that)
The starfish veil is fascinating and enchanting. The expression on her face is full of so much love and pain... you can't help but want to comfort her.
The movement of the veil, yet stillness of her...
the head off-center, yet the veil also off-center....
the warmth of the red & her skin contrasting with the cool soft blue pallet
The soft blur of everything else BUT her deep expression...
It is all SO well balanced...
Did you actually shoot it under water?
If not, you pulled off the illusion perfectly...
I like that down to the pearly detail of her dress which appears like tentacles, you have captured the Life Aquatic.
If it isn't already, I demand this be recommended for a DD
You most certainly deserve it.
I look forward to seeing more of your "visions!"
& may there be many more to come

Wow, thank you so incredibly much! This is one of my favorite images at the moment, and you've put it into words so much better than I ever could!
She is partially submerged in the water, her face and part of her shoulder are above water though. The way the tulle drifted and floated in the water was absolutely dream-like.
Thank you so much again!
