Celebrate 16 Years of DeviantArt
DeviantArt launched 16 years ago, providing a community of artists and art appreciators with a place to call home. Now, on August 7th, as we celebrate our Sweet Sixteen, we’re bringing a birthday celebration to our deviants around the world! From the comfort of your computer, help us celebrate the reason we’re all here today — our vibrant and inspirational community!
Standing at the cusp of Internet-adulthood, it’s always enjoyable to look back and embrace the carefree days of our artistic youth. This year, while adult coloring books are flying off the shelves nearly faster than fiction, what better way to unwind than celebrating with some coloring of your own? Using the Paint Bucket Tool in your favorite image-editing software, download our template and find inspiration and serenity in the swirling shapes.

While coloring, I found out several things:

1) I am not good at search-and-finds anymore (I used to be really good at those Highlights ones as a kid).

2) Coloring things on your kitchen table while drinking an iced coffee isn't a good idea. Your coloring page will get wet, you will get frustrated, and you'll resort to digital coloring book fun instead.

3) I apparently gravitate towards purple (favorite color, duh).

DeviantArt is turning sixteen this year! That's right, we're celebrating DA's sweet sixteen! This year, as usual, we have a whole bunch of contests and events prepared for you guys. Are you ready to compete and win some dope prizes?? Here's our schedule:
Chat Events:
11am PST: Muro Draw Challenge hosted by JenFruzz wherein you will be challenged to use Muro and draw based on prompts assigned to you in a specific amount of time.
1pm PST: Literature themed challenges hosted by TheMaidenInBlack wherein you will receive prompt-based writing challenges and play a scavenger hunt game as well!
4pm PST: Trivia with Mrs-Durden wherein you will be asked trivia questions in a ruthless competition where the person with the most correct answers wins.
5pm PST: Rock, Paper Scissors with morbidman187 wherein you will play the infamous rock, paper scissors game...online. It gets really competitive and intense, you'll love it.
6pm PST: Fa
