i like the texture you worked into the hair that is closer to the viewer while leaving the farther away hair flat. it creates a nice sense of depth. Even from a small painting you can tell he's a large man.

Thank you very much, I'm so glad you noticed that! A very large man... half giant! Cheers for commenting!

Wow, this is fantastic! The texture of his hair is a clever touch, and I quite like how you've handled the colour of his skin. Great portrait of good ol' Hagrid! ^__^

Thank you very much! I figured that the most characteristic part of Hagrid other than his beady little eyes is his hair, so I couldn't resist making it textured! Thank you for commenting and I'm glad you like it!

Thank you very much for noticing the textures! i didn't put as much detail into the face as usual, but was hoping that the texture would direct the structure. Cheers!

Thank you so much, I'm very glad to share them amongst other fans! And I'm very appreciative that you picked up on the different textures, its difficult to get a good photo, and preserve all the dimension. In most cases I would join - however I am watching so many deviants, and am a member of so many groups at the moment that I find it very difficult to control my flooded inbox! But I hope that having your group listed by the art itself will help attract some of my watchers ( who I know are Potter fans) to your group!
