Jeez. This is probably the most awesome cosplay I've ever seen!
I was thinking about cosplaying Ryuk, but I had no idea how to make the costume realistic. Thank you so much for all the inspiration and the detailed desciptions!
I still do have one question though;
How did you make those "spine-bumps" (or whatever the word is)

I molded wet leather around shot glasses and let them dry overnight.

Hey, thanks for the wonderful comment. I used the Ryuk from the live action movie. I took about a billion screen shots to get all of the views that I needed. If you ever need them let me know. I still have them lurking around my computer. ^^

Wow. I'm glad that you like it.
Ok. I got my feathers from a fabric store that I used to work for. Search online for "black rooster feathers." Perhaps you can find what you need online. As for the clips, the were hand made using a form of plastic that I melted and shaped. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The place that I got my feathers from dosen't have them anymore. I bought them out. Definately buy the ones from that link you showed me. International shipping isn't all that bad.

How did you attach all those feathers?

Thank you! Under those feathers are a pair of shoulder pads which are sewn to the shoulders of the shirt. I covered the pads in the kind of jersy material that they use for sportswear. (You know, the kind with the holes.)Then I popped each feather in some glue and stuck them in.
