Description

*Orcrist was an Elven sword from Gondolin, was forged for Turgon (the only Elf to hold the title 'King of Gondolin') in the First Age as the "mate" of Glamdring, by elven smiths.  Who not only made it a valuable weapon, but also a feared one to their enemies, particularly among  Orcs and other evil creatures. Orcrist "had killed hundreds of goblins in its time.
Orcrist could detect the presence of Orcs and warn its bearer by glowing blue. Has meaning cleaver but the goblins called it simply Biter. Goblin hated it and hated worse any one that carried it.

After Gondolin's Fall, Orcrist & Glamdring have changed hands many times as various groups might have plundered each other: elf, orcs, trolls, men, and so on  for more than 6,000 years, untill were found by Thorin and company in a troll's cave in the Third Age. Gandalf claimed the Glamdring and Thorin Oakenshield obtained the Orcrist , promised to honor the sword and hope to cleave Goblins once again, which he did when captured in Goblin-town.

Thorin was disarmed when captured by the Elves of Mirkwood and Orcrist was kept there. However after his death, Thranduil returned Orcrist and placed it upon Thorin's tomb under Erabor, and it "gleamed ever in the dark if foes approached", and buried with him after his death in the Battle of Five Armies.

Orcrist looks great for a sword that's been around for about 6,000 years. Gosh! Gotta love elven craftsmanship! Build to last for a few dozen lifetimes!
