love the body language here and the texture and color just make everything feel so soft and comforting

This shows what's really important: colour and light. The 3 by the van are just made of blobs really but you can still clearly read who they are and what they're doing. Really nice texture as well. Am I right in guessing that you are used to working traditionally, but have found some digital brushes that work in a similar way, so you know what to do with them? Probably a Kyle Webster pack since he's the master of this kind of brush. How did I do?

Yes, i'm used to working with gouache. For traditional look you just turn texturing on, and paint on single layer to mix the strokes. ย Well, i don't know Kyle and hearing his name first time here) For record, I'm using Ruan Jia brushpack.ย
Your scored 2/3!

Ah well 2/3 ain't bad haha. Kyle T Webster has been making photoshop brushes that imitate traditional media for a long time and is generally considered to be a master of the craft. His website is at www.kylebrush.com , and he has a pack that's just for gouache if you wanted to try that out. It is paid but it's pretty cheap considering what you're getting. Then again there's a lot to be said for being comfortable with your tools, so maybe it's best to stick with what you know - but if you wanted to try something that maybe reacts and looks specifically like gouache, it might be worth a look.
I promise I don't work for him haha

I'm more of a fan of Little Miss Sunshine than Steven Universe, but this is a really strong piece. The parallels are plentiful.

This is honestly amazing! The texture is so unique; I don't think I've seen SU fanart on here that looks anything like this. I'm not familiar with the reference though. Where was this from? Anyways, AWESOME artwork!

I don't even know what's going on in this piece, but the image of Steven comforting Lapis is so lovely. Not to mention you did a really good job with the background - whether this piece is digital or traditional, you really did the varying surfaces of the background, from the straw to the sky overhead, justice. This is gorgeous.ย
