Description I've been working up the courage to try a colour portrait of Colin Morgan. My last two forays into colour were somewhat disappointing but I decided not to become discouraged but try again.Β  I used oil pastel again, but used a colour extender to help blend, and added Prismacolor pencils for details. I liked this method, the coloured pencil goes on top of the oil pastel like butter, and although this was a quickie (4 hours) I'm pleased with the improvement over my last two colour portraits. Colin is my muse!

Firstly, the title is adorable – I love it! And secondly... this piece is truly breathtaking. I am in absolute love with this drawing of yours! How do you even...? I literally see every bit of detail and effort you put into this drawing and it's remarkable. My favorites are definitely the little bit of stubble you gave him and his eyes! Oh, those eyes! Thanks. I picked the title because I had to fill in almost all the skin with white before I could even add my lightest skin tone to it, to match the skin tone on the reference. His skin truly is like ivory.

I do draw him often and make everyone sick of me, but I just love to.Β  I can see Kit is your muse at the moment, so I'm sure you understand.Β  I find his face so challenging, and it is so satisfying when I can get it right, or at least close enough to right so people can recognize him. I am glad you feel that way about my comment! And yes, i do understand why you like drawing him. For example, I cannot draw something or someone I do not like, so I have periods of time when I want to draw a certain person. I used to draw Michael Jackson a lot, then my favourite actors and now Kit Harington is a challenge to me. Don"t discourage yourself and keep drawing what you like best! And trust me, I am not sick of you, NO WAY!!!!Β Β Cannot wait for the next ones!
