Description
The crew of the ship "Hades" was sent to find the whereabouts of the ship named "Prometheus". They tracked its last coordinates to only find a wreckage and a large, unidentified structure. They entered the structure, finding a vase like object that they brought back with them. It was kept in quarantine on the ship while others explored the structure.

One of the doctors on board the Hades opened the vase to find an odd black substance. He used it on some of his own skin cells and saw that the substance mutates living tissue. He used one of the crew members bizarre bio-engineered aquatic pets as guinea pigs and saw how expansively the substance mutated simple organisms. Before he could use it on himself one of the mutated creatures had reached enormous size and latched on to him, shoving a large proboscis down his throat. The other specimens escaped into vents.

One of the other doctors found his bloated corpse with the creature dead beside him hours after the attack. They tried to operate on his corpse, but something burst from his bloated body, something big.
