I like his deisgn, quite simple and a bit casual but still effective, I always love that kind of hair too!

I can't imagine that the striking similarity of this guy to both Cloud Strife and Sasuke Uchiha was anything but intentional. However, it does make me a bit worried about his characterization in this graphic novel project. To that end, I'd really like to see some pages when you have them done.

It wasn't intentional. There are 3 rough chapters done, all of which have been a little experimental so the art style's all over the place.

as for scabbard placement, having it on his back would be more practical IF it was only a single blade, the way you have it is just fine since it'll be easier to grab a blade in each hand

Very cool. But...I just have to ask, why choose that style of mounting? Why not choose an easier position to reach, like on the back? Also, the scabbard doesn't look long enough to keep the blades from running into each other, though they could be a design where the blades could sit next to each other, reducing the scabbard length. But if that's the case, the scabbard is now too long...what's going on?!

I don't get how the back would be easier to reach, it's really not? The blades retract and extend/lock into position when they're taken out.

With the scabbard on the back, the arm is in an akward position, and the entire arm must be moved to remove the weapon (not to mention hitting door frames while going through them). If they were on the back, only the forearm would have to be moved, as well as putting the arm in a more natural position. Also, if the blades can retract, why bother with a scabbard at all? They could be easily concealable, disguised as something else, even put together, instead of having the dead weight scabbard.

I just see words with your "explanation"; tried moving my arms from both positions and it seemed pretty much the same.

Well, if you read all those words with my "explantion" you would've seen that you never resolved the fact that your character's weapons would stop him from entering doors because they're too wide.
A longer handle could remedy your retraction problem.
