This includes using the piece for stock art in your own artwork, as an avatar on this or any other site, or posting the picture elsewhere and claiming it as your own.
Please remember that I work long and hard getting each image just right before I post them, some times I spend days or even weeks on a render before it goes up on this site. If you are interested in creating something similar yourself, I use free software and get most of my models and other items for free and can point you in the right direction, plus offer a lot of advice on being a 3D artist.
If you are interested in commissioning your own piece, I'd be happy to create whatever you like. As of now, I don't charge for commissions.

I like it. It's really good. But is it supposed to not show the horses eyes? It looks great regardless but I'm just wondering if you meant to do it that way or if I'm just dumb and don't get it.
Great Job though, it looks really good. I don't understand how people can do stuff like that, especially on the computer. But I'm not very computer smart. Perhaps you can enlighten me. How did you do this?

I used a free software suite called DAZ|Studio, available at [link]

you did well with this render, the lighting is just enough.

The armor on the horse is really amazing. Very intricate I like the contrast between the black horse and the bright silver metal His eye does need a life light though, they are very hard to see (that would be a reflection, in non Grandmother's speech)

thank you! The eyes actually do ahve a reflection, it's just the angle I rendered the image at. Like I said, I got so frustrated with this piece i just called it done

I understand! I have been there. I don't know anything about 3D art, but I will take your word for it

Wow, you did an awesome job on this one. You're getting very good The only thing I would have done personally, would have been applying a good metal shader to the sword and horse armor, but again that's just a me thing

If I had done that, I would have lost the awesome texturing on the armor and sword. I thought about it, but decided to leave it for the sake of the etchings.

*grins* Makes sense. So you know for next time, you actually can mix. Apply your shader, then take your texture and apply it to the color channel/bump channels on top. Is how I do my sword blades for release.

Now, that's a nice place for your watermark
I like this picture, but I agree with olearysfunphotos - or make the eyes just red.

Maybe I will after all...I'll think about it for awhile.

I like it. But just as a suggestion, give the horse some really fiery eye's

You know, I thought about that too, I may go back and do that. But for now, he has the gentle brown eyes that real horses do.

wowie! as a drawer ( is that even a word ) i could learn a lot from your compositions!! the Armour is gorgeous!

Well, "drawer" is a word, but it generally refers to something like a "desk drawer" or a "dresser drawer." I think you mean "traditional artist." My compositions are not so hard to do, the hardest part is to get everything positioned just right and to not have skin poking through armor.

I have to agree with the first comment above, I love that horse! the armor is so beautiful. I wont even begin to act like I understand how 3D programs work, but the only thing I would have done (if I knew what I was doing) is to put a little tarnish on its armor. they allways seem to as much as they are polished. beautiful!

quirkyblonde In reply to AngelsInc [2008-05-06 21:10:00 +0000 UTC]

Well, the armor is always shiny and polished when they LEAVE for war...I may do a piece when it's all tarnished and worn out as they come back from the war.

First of all let me say I love the amour on the horse and I've checked out your gallery, your skin is getting so awesome. You must really have a cool renderer, your images are so good not to mention big.

quirkyblonde In reply to BLEEDINGVEIN [2008-05-06 07:14:02 +0000 UTC]

lol, it's the same renderer I've used since I first began, I've just gotten better at using it. You really should give it a try, it's free!

I'm glad you like the horse's armor, I love it too! Thanks for the compliments!
