This took forever, probably because i kept messing up their faces. Also i really need to work on my background skills and not be lazy with them. They are supposed to be in Hueco Mundo, lolRelated content

I think your drawing is based on the characters. You could focus on them and not in the background, I mean that you could also choose not to worry about the background.
This drawing is really quite good. I would say do either one of two things:
- focus on characters and do a white or black or grey background. You can just do this: very easy and looks decent
-- make a square selection with photoshop and then add a gradient that goes from dark grey to light grey. You can also add white border as I did. This is very easy to do if you work with layers in photoshop.
- Otherwise if you really want to do more complex backgrounds, may I suggest that you copy landscapes? Copy backgrounds from photos or from other artists.
If you want to improve in something particular, it is often easier if you isolate that thing that you want to improve and ignore the rest, that gives you focus

Thanks for the tips! I have been trying to use photo references from google when I draw backgrounds as of late. I'll try to keep the gradient thing in mind

You do know that Hichigo doesn't exist anymore, right? There's onle the true Zangetsu.

You're right, sorry. I just have trouble thinking of him as Zangetsu and in most fan art and fanfic I read he seems to be referred to as Hichigo
