Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain. It's part of the United Kingdom - they are different things. Great Britain, like I said, is just that one island with Scotland, England, and Wales on it.

Lol. Northern Ireland is practically always left out of something, it's small wonder he excludes England, Scotland and Wales(as well as Ireland, but s/he's catholic so it's different) from his own products and service offers in (seemingly) retaliation.

R-ninja In reply to Fire-Seal [2011-07-07 21:10:48 +0000 UTC]
Excluded on a technicality? Seeing as Northern Ireland isn't actually a part of Great Britain (which isn't the whole kingdom, just the island).

Fire-Seal In reply to R-ninja [2011-07-07 21:50:33 +0000 UTC]
I know, Northern Ireland is separated from the other UK nations by sea, so it's harder to deliver stuff. It's just fun to see the way some comedians portray the relationship, essentially "Hey! We've got a marvelous, fantastic deal for you, one that will make your wallet heavier, your life better, your teeth whiter and your wife/girlfriend will want to have sex with you every night. And the price is so damn low, we're CRAZY!
Except for you morons in Northern Ireland. You're stuck out, and we're certainly not going to tell you why(though we will certainly imply a few things, depending on our target demography). Na na na-na na!" Even though I know the commentary is just for humor, and any connection between your submission and the comedian's dialogue is purely in my own head, running into your submission reminded me of it, and I had to comment.

Your Sutherland tartan looks quite a bit like blackwatch. If you would darken the blue, the problem would be fixed. XD
My Grand-uncle has a Sutherland Tartan Military Swatch for serving in WWII. He was truly a great man... I'm supposed to be getting all of his kilts and things from our Scottish history when he passes on. His Diaries and journals.
But I absolutely ADORE that you actually but dear Scotland in a kilt. It's their traditional dress. I think it makes him a very distinct character. I also like that you did NOT make him a redhead. So many artists put all of the British isles characters as redheads, and it gets a little too annoying.
But I absolutely love this piece to death. And that Sporran that Scotland has makes me lol with how big and fluffy it is :3

Fantastic pic, you're an absolutely amazing artist, one of the best I've ever seen, for sure. Just one point that's bugging me, surely Scotland would have dark blue flashes, rather than the ones you've given him?
Completely inconsequential, I realize, but I'm one of these silly people that get irritated by small things like that, I'm afraid.

... Whoops.
Are they supposed to be dark blue? Can't say I was aware of this, and none of my Scottish friends have said anything about it. Very sorry about that.
If it's really that irritating, I may change it at some point.

AbominableSnowdude In reply to R-ninja [2011-01-15 07:10:09 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, flashes are supposed to be either of the tartan itself or of the main colour of the tartan.
I'm afraid I know far too much to be healthy about the wearing of kilts, crazy patriotic fathers are a nuisance...
And 'taint that irritating, it's just me being overly observant.

This is the second time I see England and an OC Wales wearing an identical uniform. Does this have anything to do with England and Wales sharing a lot of government functions while Scotland more or less gets its own (or something to that effect, correct me if I'm mistaken)? Or is it because it'll give Wales the Canada treatment in the setting if he dresses like England?

Duo-minds In reply to joeabuy1000 [2011-05-07 19:38:34 +0000 UTC]
it's more due to the fact england invaded Wales to make him a part of his house and many people mistake Wales for a part of England too
π: 0 β©: 0
R-ninja In reply to joeabuy1000 [2010-12-18 23:24:21 +0000 UTC]
Because militarily they had the same uniforms.

England and Wales are wearing the same thing.
That being said, I can almost imagine Scotland giving England that look when he throws birds at him.
