a very cool painting. That barbarian knight has a lot of courage to be chasing something that could be step on him without notice.

Unfortunately not yet. I have have been in retail since I graduated in 2000 with a Bachelors degree in Illustration. Did not even pick up a pencil again until about 4 years ago, realizing how unfulfilled my life had become. About 3 years ago I started to dabble more with Corel Painter, which I had all this time but never really used it. At the end of 2008 I was laid off from Circuit City because they went bankrupt.( At this point I would like to thank George Bush for ruining the economy to give me that final straw to try my hand in the art field). Since then I have been trying to get a handle on Painter. Right now focusing on pinning down the style that I want and just adding pieces to my portfolio. Haven't sent anything out to anyone yet, my work is just getting to the point where I am comfortable. The one good thing came out of working in retail is the gear that I got out of it. I have a pretty sweet setup(which I'll be posting as soon as I get a chance). I have a triple lcd setup with an extra large Wacom tablet. Actually I have several tablets which I guess I'll sell on Ebay.

Nice. Have you ever used the wacom bamboo fun tablet. I've been wondering if I should get an intuos. Have ya heard if there is more of a change in quality? I'm going to keep tabs on you hoping you get the job of my dreams. Keep it up.

R-Tan In reply to natenutron [2010-10-06 08:59:19 +0000 UTC]

A bamboo fun is fine. I picked one up for $10 when Circuit City closed. The biggest disadvantage for me is the size. Right now I have a Intuos XLRG. It all depends on how you draw, you should draw from your shoulder to get more fluid gestures. The Intuos4 line has double the pressure sensitivity but I fine that 1024 is fine. It also has a radial menu function which I'm not sure if the latest bamboo has. I have a intuos3 on my laptop and it doesn't have the radial function which I find annoying. Also the intous4 has more side buttons, but I don't really use them, their not well placed, too hard to push and not enough of them. I use another device attached to wacom called X-keys. Its like a small numeric pad that you can rearrange and program the buttons. All in all the Bamboo is fine just less convenient. I'll be taking a picture of my setup and posting it soon.
