Description OCT reference

OC name: AL (Algorithmic Liquidation) Program
Race: Agressive Self-Replicating Code Virus
Virtual Height: 6ft
Virtual Weight: 700lbs (due to internal infrastructure)

Abilities:
Replicate Code - Allows AL the ability to copy a program's coding making multiple copies of that program. The effects of this can vary from slowing down the entire system to crashing an entire system.

Manipulate Code - AL can enter into a program's coding and manipulate it by either using the existing code as it is or alter it to best suit his needs.

Integrate Code - Being a learning artificial intelligence, AL can take integrate code around him into his own coding stream, this allows him to repair systems or even mimic the abilities of programs around him.

Invasive Coding - If AL becomes too damaged and hasn't been able to integrate himself into the main system, he can abort his core programming into a parasitic code form. This code form can infiltrate an existing program and "regrow" the AL Program within. This usually ends with the host being completely wiped when AL returns.

Algorithmic Prediction - By studying the algorithmic patterns that all programs produce, AL can identify a programs abilities, offensive and defensive systems, and normally predict what actions that program will take. With this knowledge, AL can usually develop multiple COAs (Courses of Action) to take against that program.

The AL program is an aggressive computer virus who's development was funded by a conglomerate of corporations that saw SANCTUM as a threat to their enterprises.
AL is a self aware computer virus. Upon initialization, the virus is not very intelligent. However, it is capable of geometric learning and will quickly learn what he needs to in order to survive and complete his primary programming requirements.
His main modes of attack involve the use of his SPDR (Silicon Particulate Directed Response) Nanite Armature Frame. The limbs to his SPDR frame are able to elongate and shorten at will due to its make up of Silicate Nanites. They're also capable of injecting disruptive code into programs.
The AL Program has a pretty direct mode of interaction with others. He will first determine the threat level it poses to him and then examine its capabilities. If those capabilities are considered beneficial, he will try to integrate that coding into his own.
The AL Program is also a self replicating virus. Whenever possible AL will integrate his own coding into the surrounding environment allowing him to speed along system take over by creating more versions of himself within the its framework. These copies are not perfect copies and will not be able to do everything the original AL Program can do.

Weaknesses:
The AL-Program is not very intelligent. Upon initialization he has only his primary programming to guide him. However, the longer he is allowed to run rampant he will acquire more outside coding, thus increasing his base intelligence.
But, even though AL has the capability to become smarter, he does not have the necessary cognitive capabilities to develop complex strategies on his own. Any cleverness that he may develop will only come from any outside coding that he's absorbed. This will make him very predictable in a confrontation after the initial encounter.

AL has no long range capabilities. The SPDR Frame gives him considerable reach, (Additional 6ft up to 20ft) however he has no projectile ability. For any of his abilities to work he needs to make "physical" contact with other programs.

Although his virtual body is composed of a strong carbon frame and musculature, he isn't exceptionally strong. He can ignore parameters though, allowing him to exceed his limitations. However, this doesn't come without cost. His "physical" body will not be able to handle the strain for long, causing it to eventually break down.

His body does not have any natural resistances. He may be able to integrate another programs immunities into his own, but it will be a corrupted version of that immunity. In the beginning, his body will be very weak to attacks. However, the longer he remains in the system and more outside code he integrates into himself, he will become more resistant.

Rampancy. It is capable for AL to stretch himself too thin. For every copy of himself that becomes activated he needs to allocate a portion of his primary memory in order to maintain control of it. The more copies of himself activated, the more sluggish his primary program will become. Copies are autonomous, but can only follow whatever primary directive AL gives them and cannot think on their own. If AL activates too many copies, his programming goes into Rampancy and he will destabilize. There will not be enough of his core programming left to upload into another program. He will essentially "think" himself into non-existence.

I loved this post and this character tremendously. The ideas, design and basic mechanics are all fantastin.

I have only one question though.

What does AL stand for?

Al looks both incredibly designed but intimidatingly scary as well.

This makes me think of that statement in portal that warned against AI. "This statement is False."

Ive started sketching it out, but I dont know how the OCT hosts will take the liberties Im taking with their NPC/judges/entire universe.

You can always ask them! I've talked to Raxion about questions concerning NPC violence/etc and it worked out just fine.

BE BOLD. BE DIFFERENT.

Perfect. Ill send them a message about it then. I'd hate to overstep my bounds. Also after I'm done with the Paladin sketch I'm going to do one of IO and AL. Its going to be titled VIRUS: A Love Story.
