Description First off: I don't have Dissidia because I don't have a PSP and I don't care enough to get one due to having more than enough gaming systems already (Gamecube, PS2, DS, 360). And I hear they're easy as shit to break.

However, has Dissidia and showed me some bits and pieces of it. Namely, him constantly failing horribly at one of Cloud's levels, Squall shooting Sephiroth in the face during the opening (YESSSSS), and the conversation between Shiva and Firion. Having played FF2, I lol'd so damn hard at that part.

Quick notes:
"Foe Yay" - Look it up on TVTropes.

The Emperor's sparkliness - Seriously, the dude's like the David Bowie of Final Fantasy. And thanks to the constant "FABULOUSSSS!" jokes the guys and I make, it's almost impossible to take him seriously anymore.

Squall - TVTropes lists him as a Team Mom in Dissidia, as he's apparently almost always babysitting Zidane and Bartz (who's actually older than Squall!).

Pedo!Kefka - ...yeah, I dunno. Kefka's easily my absolute favorite FF villain for good reason. His interactions with Terra in Dissidia from what I've seen can get a little creepy. But not as creepy as...

Sephiroth - In case you can't tell my stance on this guy, here it is: FUCK SEPHIROTH. Fuck him and his girly hair and his lack of a personality and his creepy-ass Oedipus Complex for something that's not even his real mom and his unholy emo clone spawn things from Advent Children. Fuck that noise. Seriously, try to imagine anyone else besides a rabid yaoi fangirl writing his dialogue with Cloud. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE.

To be honest with you, I got angry at the exaggeration of the CloudXSephiroth in the Info box and the F**k Sephiroth parts.
But I think Kefka is an excellent villain too. I don't think either is better than the other to be honest.

And yeah, I also find Sephiroth overrated. People just like him for his battle skills and beauty.

I hate it when the most hated characters are subject to beating up by fanbase like Hope Estheim, Cait Sith, etc.

I agree with you wholeheartedly on your "Fuck Sephiroth" stance
I just think ff7 is over rated and people need to give ff5 and ff6 a chance... (ff3 and 4 were good as well...)

and the panel with squall made me laugh harder than i thought i would... i got weird looks from the people on the other end of the room... but it was worth it <3 literal lol FTW!

Oh my. X]

This is rather amazing, and I like how you've drawn it. You draw well. Totally legit.

And lmfao @ the Seph rant. Literally out loud... Even though I'm like "Love Sephiroth and the girly hair and lack of personality and Oedipus-complex and...unholy emo clone spawn things from Advent Children." Because I love it. It's hilarious. And even more hilarious because you so can't imagine his dialogue as being written by someone other than a rabid yaoi fangirl.

I think that your representation is rather accurate overall. I fail at this comment...

After playing an hour or two with Dissidia, I got baffled at how... clownish Kefka really was. It's hard to imagine a little pixelated sprite being so goofy to begin with, though he was kinda weird script-wise.

Kefka was indeed my favorite character, but Dayum was that game uncontrollable. Plus... I'd definitely see a huge Final Fantasy bout starring all the fight-worthy characters on home consoles. Most of my friends were sad not to be able to pit Sabin against Wakka, or something like that. I'd like to see General Leo fight in full force myself.

Well it was a funny comic strip, I must say. Congratulations, you got me laughing my arse off at the Emperor David Bowie XD

As someone told me before, in a cast where EVERYBODY was the lead protagonist/antagonist, everybody's character had to be super-emphasized for them to stand out. Thus, a lot of Kefka's non-clownish qualities got pushed to the side, so he stood out more.

Those of us who have played Final Fantasy VI know what Kefka was/is truly capable of. XD

XPator In reply to Dogurasu [2010-11-04 16:33:55 +0000 UTC]

I didn't see all that much about Kefka in Dissidia myself, since I don't own the game, I didn't explore it thoroughly. What I saw was a clownish man who happens to get creepy around Terra (poor girl). Kefka teaming up with Ultimecia (?) was funnier than necessary, he's so goofy in that one!

But I'd definitely see him try to poison people around for laughs. Or backstab, or rant for an hour about how much he HATES.

All in all, the game looked good, just too bad it was on PSP... I don't think I'd love to spend 200$ for a console I'm not even sure would be worth buying games for...

I know someone who would legitimately hate Sephiroth for his evilness, someone who dared raise Aerith to level 99 (that was dumb). Sephiroth, apart from being the gay hate-fuel for Cloud, was perhaps one of the most hated RPG antagonist... Just cause he backstabbed a sweetheart. On hindsight though, they really worked too much on the guy.

I still prefer Kefka, after all he's a God of destruction XD

Kefka was in Final Fantasy 6 (or Final Fantasy 3 in North America). It's available as a GB-advance cartridge or a Playstation compilation set, along with Final Fantasy 5. I'm not sure if it's on the WiiWare -yet-, but heh. -Or there's emulation. Works as well.

In a nutshell, Kefka was the court mage of an evil powermongering Emperor named Ghestalh, which was searching for ultimate power by capturing Espers (the summons) and draining the life out of them, and powering his mechanical army with it, along with infusing his generals into it. It's a bit like Mako energy, but even more gruesome. At some point, Ghestalh finds the thing that holds the Balance in the world and intents in using it, your team goes to stop him, Kefka backstabs him and takes the power for himself, thus becoming the God of Destruction. Well if he was just a power hungry dictator, he would have become Zeus or something, it wouldn't be as bad. But he's mad, filled with hate, and a gay clown to boot.

So basically, the last part of the game (perhaps the longest), is about Celes running around the world to find all her teammates which were split up after the cataclysm which happened one year before her roadtrip. Meanwhile, you see the damages Kefka has done, and when you confront him in the end, he's clearly mad with power, and takes life and humanity for a colony of ants, him wielding a pot of boiling oil. Kefka was a greatly rendered villain, his motivations are awesome.

In Final Fantasy 9 (which is available at the Playstation Store for about 5 or 7 bucks, not sure), Kuja is the name of the villain... and I must say I first thought he was a woman. I was horrified. This is where Square-Enix started to prissy-up his whole franchise, and where I started to lost some respect for them. I'm not sure about Kuja's backstory though, he wants power (?) but not really, there's a big tree in the background which you go check out, bunch of zombies, somehow the tree is involved with everything, and Kuja runs around being a effeminate jackass and kills everyone just for kicks.

Well sorry if you didn't intend in reading a whole book worth of comment lol but I'm a huge fan of the franchise, at least before the FFXI-online era. XD

Don't worry, I don't mind reading long post
If it can make me understand who is that clown for real ...

Oh and sorry, well when I hear Kefka, for some reason I don't know, I always think that it's that Kuja guy
They really have nothing in common except that they're vilains, their names are similar too, but ...
I have absolutely no idea why I'm misunderstanding(?) one for another
