Heretical, you say, what could possibly be heretical about a space marine drinking with a Chaos Terminator and a Tau and an Imperial Officer proposing to a female xeno whilst standing next a sister of battle....... your Honour; I would like to retract my previous statement.

Now, why aren't there more pictures like these on the Internet!? One would think that Deviantart would be swarming with them!

Thanks.
I suppose there's a lot of good serious art of 40k out there. But then sometimes you just have to have fun and have them go to the pub

If I tried to finish a whole section I'd do one of the big set piece fights between the space marines/a crisis suit and a big infected demon thing. Inspired by watching too much mecha anime

It was never finished. Sorry. Me and a friend of mine came up with the idea ages ago and recently I've been trying to revive it. It has a lot of plot points that need to be sorted out before it can be finished

I would love to get into Warhammer, but they are so expensive.

They are indeed. I'm mainly in it for the story/artwork. The last game I played was months ago. You can probably find cheaper models on e-bay than in the actual stores. Some people do skirmish games with only a couple of units of models, those are a bit easier to start off with

Yes, and it's not like there aren't cheaper alternatives.
If one is interested in the game aspect, just using some other objects with the labels would be possible.
I played games like that with my cousins when we were younger, although we usually just made our own games.

The best thing to do is wait until someone who's been playing for a long time decides to change to a different army, then you say 'I'll take those models off your hands' . It's how I got half my army.

I'd enjoy making and painting them more than actually playing them.

I prefer painting the models too. The pirate character in my WH gallery eventually became a model. I've got lots of random ones I haven't worked on in a bit of a while.

Do you just paint or also make your own miniatures or customise?

Raax-theIceWarrior In reply to Lieju [2011-01-10 18:52:49 +0000 UTC]
I also customise my minitures. My pirate minuture was made from two different models, but my favourite conversions are a set of space marines made to look like the Avengers superhero team.

I use alternate tank model kits for my 40k armour. Just purchased a 40 bucks 1/32 M3 Lee to look like a russ. It costs like 65 if you buy the actual model.

I'm not good with tanks or vechicles. SO i generally go for characters. I just love trying to make as many 40k things look like something else as possible

Me too, but it's REALLY frustrating to spend 3+ hours on a single common trooper in your army and then move on to something else. I tried converting my entire vanilla IG into storm troopers with modeling putty. Just ended up one.....

With Imps you have to many models to try and make everyone look really nice. I stil haven't finished my Wodd elves because I spent too long working on each... individual... model...

Lol, Wood Elves, my bro brought a box for fun. Swear, waste of 50 bucks. They're so fragile compared to the relativley manly IG.

You spent 50 bucks? Ok, that might come to Β£30 in the exchange rate. They're fragile but they look cool. I like things that are good at close combat and sword fights (so why did I collect Tau?)

Yeah its Australian dollar. Well i collect IG because i have sort of a thing for real life historical military. I experimented several times for which flavor I want for my IG. Believe it or not, i bought a single Cadian box set and created 3 different armies throughout its life.
A Lost and the Damned army
Vanilla IG
and finally Mechanicus.
