Description Art by Bob Montana
Three days worth of comic continuity from the Archie newspaper strip in the late 40's.
The all girl island mentioned is a summer camp that Arch & Jughead accidentally end up stranded on.
As luck would have it, someone left behind a couple of stylish female swimsuits that fit them fine and cover any unwanted bulges up.
But with Archie you just know this will not end well

I almost lost it when Arch said, "Okay Gorgeous Creature, don't over do it!"

The weirdest one is still that 1940's story where Archie and Reggie basically dated to settle a bet on who made the most realistic girl.

Yeah, a friend with an encyclopedic knowledge of comics told me about Archie & Reggie dating in a comic but it took years to actually find a copy (still have not found a dolor copy.)
I had to apologize for not believing him.

Archie had some incredibly strange and kinky and sexy stuff in the early days.
Another reason I love looking through Golden age comics (can't afford to buy them though.)

Heh, this reminds me of something Moe Howard and some of his friends did as teenagers. They learned how to swim from the only place that had openings, an all girl school. In Moe's autobiography he said they used falsies made from balls of newspaper to pretend to be girls -- and after every dive they had to stay under water until they could get their 'bosoms' rearranged. It worked fine until one girl missed the pool one day and landed head first on the concrete beside it. She broke her neck, and Mow and his pals never went back.

You get the feeling that some of the comedians of that era actually grew up in the world as it was in the Columbia short comedies.
That is till someone actually got injured.
