Oh my god, this is perfect. I waited for an hour to get toilet paper at Target. I managed to snag some, though. It was that more expensive stuff, but it was literally all they had. Now I can tell my grandkids how I waited in line for an hour to get toilet paper.

Which is nonsense, as I've not heard that diarrhea is a symptom of COVID-19 (which hits resperation, not the digestive tract). One large pack should satisfy a family for months.

I know, itβs complete and utter nonsense. Itβs called panic buying. People think they need something when they donβt. The pack I managed to get will last me years at this rate.

I bought a large pack at a good price last year and I've still got at least half of it stored away.
Panic buying is exactly it. Panic is not a rational process, and tends to be a self-perpetuating, infectious meme. (I've heard a claim that it started because a TV reporter shot their piece about some supplies running low while standing before a display of toilet paper -- despite the report not mentioning that product.)
