I was just reading the Mortal Instruments series and when Magnus came up my first tought was "man this guy would get along great with Adam" I haven't figured out who works best for Alec but one of my choices is Matt Dallas who plays Kyle in "Kyle XY" ...
On a side note Simon reminds me of Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds or Q from Skyfall!

You wouldn't be the first person to say that and it's most likely true. What I meant was that I always saw Magnus portrayed as someone covered in Glitter and sequins.
