This is the second of five critters that will go into the Song in the Sky 4 composition.

This bird was a lot of fun to color. I used a color combination that I don't use often, and one I've not used on these birds-of-paradise types. Blue and gold is just so... majestic. Which is belied by the fact that this is really a giant, happy cockatiel. Any of you own one of these little fluffballs? Right. They're GOOFY when they're happy. No majesty to it.

Watercolor, Prismacolor pencils, gold paint pen. Took about fourteen hours, just like the dragon.

Yes, I've had a few professional exhibitions. They're okay, but I really prefer to show my artwork at science-fiction/fantasy conventions. I like the open minds there.

Oh yes, very, very happy bird. The only way I could show it any happier would be to have it upside down, flapping, and wolf-whistling like Mom's goofy cockatiels.
