Description For the 100 Themes challenge, number 47 - Creation.

I've decided that this is how the merpeoples in my Books reproduce. Once in a merwoman's lifetime, she has the opportunity to create a baby out of her own spirit - but only if she's in love. It doesn't matter what gender her lover is, and unfortunately mermen can't do this, but I decided to keep it that way because nothing else in my books speaks of women's biologically creative power. So yeah.

I'm actually crazy proud of this. It came together better than I could have expected

Aww, thanks! Though I think I'm going to expand the idea so that all merpeople can do this once during their lifetime, regardless of gender.

BTW, do they only use soul-creation, or can they also spawn like normal fishies?

And they only do soul-creation. My merpeople are basically magically mutated elves, so I don't think they're really connected to fish enough to be able to spawn like them.
