This is the first piece in a series I started during the Pandemic. At some point during lockdown, I finally took stock of my materials and found a huge stash of iridescent paints I'd bought on liquidation from a local mom n' pop art store that had sold out to Curry's. They were already quite old by the time I found them, and I thought, what am I going to do with all of these before they dry out???

So I took some inspiration from Gustav Klimt. I always loved the effect of his work, realism rising out of abstracted patterns with liberal application of gold.

I almost used a possum instead of a raven, because I thought the screaming face would be hilarious. I still do plan to do that within this series. As a little treat for me.
