Description This is the mottly group called the 'Australian Great War Association'. Basically, an Australian WWI reenactment group, portraying a platoon in the Australian 59th Battalion.

This picture was taken just after a reenactment of the Battle of the Hindenberg Line.

My impression here is a 'Piper' from the 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders, attached to the Australian 59th Bn. During the battle I piped them across the field to the German positions. There is a video, which will be included in my journal.

My uniform is made up of: Glengarry, SD cutaway jacket, pattern 1908 belt, gordon military pattern kilt, brown sporran, green hose, red flashes, short puttees, black ammo boots and bagpipes of course. I plan to modify it to suit Black Watch in the near future rather than Gordons.

Enjoy.

General Sir John Monash was a German, interestingly enough. His heritage nearly ended his career at one point.

There is an Australian officer in there too. Tall guy, squinting with an odd expression on his face. Pips on his shoulder.
