My brother's and mine favorite band is obviously incubus so i drew on a pair of slip ons the art from the light grenades album for his x-mas present. these are the reason for my hand pains
. i have a pair too that i will soon post. please dont ask me to commision you a pair. its just sooo much work sorry ={i realize that by posting this i ruin a present for my friends who i still have yet to complete but whatever if they find out its ok now they have waited long enough

i looked at the pic and recreated it

You know you can print this on fabric, and then use crafters glue or gorilla glue (suggested cause it works like all hell), and just paint over the fabric the colors you want. I love it though.

Well, it's more direct approach... some people don't have a steady enough hand to do that so well for so long. I prefer it myself, because I cannot draw! LOL.

i use prisma color markers and they bleed so i would just say be patient work slow and have fun with it

AWESOME!! I recenly got back into Incubus in a big way and obviously freaking love these!! What were the shoes like before you started, plain white? and what brand? I might have to give this go!!

they were plain white
i used cheap ten dollar no boundaries from wall mart because thats all i could afford at the time and hand drew everything
i'm not kidding even the light grenade itself was done by hand
but i recomend using Vans white canvas slips-ons cuz the shoes in general are just bettter quality

i used prisma color markers and steadlert inking pens for the colors and inking
i painted them with white acrylic paint for a base and covered it all with a spray on canvas paint protector as a seal
then used blick(brand name) paint medium gloss and painted it over to seal it all in.
the gloss goes on white but dries clear

THX XD! I use staedtler pens too, they're great for inking sketches. A tip: if you need to paint a larger area use Molotow markers. They have a very durable ink (refillable of course), they dry quick and are'nt expensive. They work excellent for drawing on leather.

yeah prismas are really expensive and they kinda mess up if your use them on paint [ but i guess they weren't designed to go on paint]
