About
Leifang from the Dead or Alive Series
Posed in XPS (XNALara Posing Studio). The pose is based on a photo, but I have chosen a new camera angle and changed the head and hair pose.

Texture Edits
Changed color of Leifang's Shirt.
Made the shirt more transparent, except the edges, which are fully opaque
Changed color of Bikini from red/White stripes to black.
Changed color of bikini rings and ear rings to golden yellow.
Reverted all inverted specular maps and darkened them.

Added background.
The background is a combination of several images, blended and blurred together. Several adjustment layers were used to get the right tone of green.

Fixed all blocky shadows from XPS advanced shadows.
I retraced every single shadow, smoothed them, and applied gradients to them.

Added rim lights (left and right side).
The rims are created in XPS by lighting the model with full strength, full depth, white lights. The exported rim image is then blended in photoshop. Any inappropriate rims are removed by masking the layer.

Made LeiFang's legs submerged in the water.
This is done by masking the legs with 50% grey. I like to use a dark grey gradient on the mask as a finishing touch to make the legs become less visible the further down in the water they are. Water has bright parts and dark parts. The bright parts are reflecting, and dark parts aren't. To make the water even better, it is important the bright parts are more opaque than the dark parts. This can be achieved by copying a selection of water from the background and paste it on top of the submerged legs. Use the blend-if sliders (double click layer). Alt-drag the black arrow for this layer to the opposite side. This makes all the dark parts of the water transparent.

Added reflection to water.
The reflection was created in XPS. Flipped the model along the y-axis and realigned it. Sometimes XPS becomes buggy when you do this. The model looks like it is turned inside out. If this happens, it is neccesary to save the scene and re-launch XPS. I added the reflection on top of the water I used in step 3. Again I used blend-if sliders, but this time I dragged the black arrows on the underlying layer. The reflection is thus only visible on the bright spots on the water, which is perfect.

Adjustment layer: Curves.
Increased the highlights slightly. Added a tint of red to mid-tones. Adding a little red to XPS images makes them a lot better, but it might just be my own preference.

Edge cleanup.
I have smoothed out as many sharp edges as I could find. This was done by hand painting and/or puppet warp.
