Description little white death
your brokeheel doe
I found a needle on your doorstep
and powder on your nose.

Watercolor, 18x24.
(The color usage here isn't as apparent, but I didn't use black or white, and the browns are created with purples, oranges, and greens. Reference from National Geographic.)

Oohh wow, I love this as well. The lighting and the textures on the fur is glorious. So is the overall tones/color choicing, and basically... you have a really good feel for making things look warm and realistic. *envies* :]

OH god I thought it was colored pencils.

That is crazy good for watercolor!

I should practice more with them...

wow. i hate when people use black. this is great. Why horror though? i mean it is a little disturbing in it's color choices, but maybe i don't get the macabre around this. but great though.

Thanks.

I didn't want to put it under animals, it didn't totally fit surreal because it is a real scene... so I couldn't really think of a fitting category, (I already submit too much into Miscellaneous that probably doesn't belong there.)

God I love the textures, especially in the face. Reminds me of notches in wood <3 The choice of colour's beautiful in here too - the saturated look really suits this piece

Jesus Christ, this is...omfg...so amazing. I've always been astounded by your use of watercolors, but this is just incredible!! Watercolor images are usually notorious for being very blotchy and soft, but there's so much detail, especially in the fur and the wood. Gaahaha I can't even see how you did that!

The contour lines on the deer really jumped out at me. The style you used there reminds me of Dali's work; he's one of your favorite artists, right? Or was. Anyways...cool reference pic, you were able to bring out a dark/surreal element from a real-life photo.

Oh, I can't say this for sure (it could've been the angle of the photo) but the wall behind the deer is a bit slanted. That's all I notice though! Superb job!

This is brilliant. The style and clarity with which you did it is very effective and it makes me envious. Wish I could use watercolors so efficiently.

Also, the lack of use of the black, white and brown colors caught my attention. My art teacher has talked about that in art class and I never felt I could do it efficiently, though i guess I never entirely tried to apply it. You did great with combining colors, too.

Oh, and I like all the detail you put into this as well. :] The nails in the walls, the texture on the boards, the miscellaneous items and the pattern fur on the deer - and the fact it kind of follows a direction but still looks natural, and you captured different lengths - all make this very believable.

In short, this is lovely. :]

Aw, thanks so much!

I'm usually really lazy with big projects, so putting in detail was an effort coming from me. So I'm glad you noticed the detail in it.
